Welcome to another single girls blog. It’s at this time of year that the realisation dawns that Christmas is over, you have spent and ate and now you’re feeling the effects physically and financially. It’s also the start of a new year, things to look forward to and goals to set. Disappointment can also set in when we think of the areas in which we fell short in 2010.
But I have no doubt that 2011 is going to be an amazing year! Why? Because I say so! Doesn’t it say in Proverbs 18:21 that death and life are in the power of our tongue? So start speaking what you want to see happen in 2011, start speaking those things that are not as though they are. I personally am taking 2011 by both hands and shaking out of it all that God has for me and I encourage you to do the same!
One thing I always do at the beginning of the year is to create a vision board, it’s an amazing thing to do whether married or single, I secretly learnt this from my mother growing up. I have a distinct memory of her having this scrapbook when I was a little girl, I remember that she would stick pictures in it and write scriptures all over it. I have this memory of her praying over it, I remember taking a sneak peek at it every once in a while, curious as to what my mum would spend so much time over in prayer, in that scrap book I found pictures of pots and pans, shoes, a house and pictures of the family. She was always adding to this scrapbook, never settling but always setting a new target, a new goal.
So my question to you is what are your goals for 2011? What are the desires of your heart. What do you want to see made manifest? This is what I do, I sit with tons of magazines and I look at every page, I then rip out anything that stands out to me, it could be a slogan, a word, a picture, anything that grabs my attention. Once I am surrounded by loads of random bits of paper, I look through them and ask myself why it grabbed my attention, then I begin to stick it onto my A3 piece of card until eventually what is staring back at me are all the desires of my heart laid out in the way of pictures and slogans, I then hang this up in my room in a place that I will be able to see it every morning when I wake up. What does this do? It keeps me focused; it feeds the faith on the inside of me.
So what are you waiting for get started. All you need is: - A pair of scissors - An A3 piece of card - A load of magazines - Pritt stick patience, honesty and voila you have your vision board!
Another assignment I am setting you is to get on top of your finances, make time to budget and plan. If you are not registered for internet banking get registered, and monitor your accounts and make your aim for the end of 2011 to be debt free!
Happy sticking and pasting! Ciao till next month!
