It can be extremely frustrating to follow a strict diet for weeks on end, spend hours in the gym, then step on the scales to see that you've lost only a pound or two. To lose fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume. Fat is stored energy. To get rid of it, you need to use that energy. This will require a combination of regular exercise and a good diet. You can't have one without the other and expect to see optimal results. In order to reduce your weight I would advise a high protein and low carbohydrate diet.
Your calorie intake daily should be your bodyweight in pounds x 10, this is the number of calories you need for your body to help loose weight, As and when you eat through you day does not really matier, as long as your having 5-6 small meals a day full of all the right things you'll be fine. I personally recommend a simple well balanced diet.
Good proteins: Chicken, fish, nuts.
Good fats: Flax seed oil, oily fish such as salmon and sardines, sunflower seeds and avocados.
Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables: Dark-coloured fruits (plums, red grapes ect.) and vegetables (spinach, kale, broccoli) are good ones to aim for as they are higher in antioxidants than lighter coloured fruit and vegetables.
